————-Article————————————————————–
Fatigue can cause frequent headaches and if the underlying cause is left untreated, then the headaches will go on. Another possibility is treating only the headaches, which will only make the patient an addict to painkillers but headaches will go back.
An unhealthy cycle
Fatigue causes headaches, and this type is called secondary headaches. This type of headaches won’t go away unless the health problem that causes the headaches is treated. Unless you treat your fatigue, your headaches will persist.
Sometimes it’s difficult to break this cycle. Analyze what factors are causing you fatigue: sleep disorders, unhealthy eating habits, drinking alcohol, drug abuse, smoking, overloads of work or study, etc. All these factors add up to your fatigue and frequent headaches. It’s important to see a doctor in order to rule out other causes for your headaches, since some illnesses can also give you headaches.
To start off, you can try an over the counter sleep medication, but if you want to avoid medication, you can try herbal teas and meditation to gain some more sleep. As soon as you get more frequent sleep and your sleep patterns go back to normal, you will find it easier to cope with everyday life issues such as stress and workload. To reinforce and reinstate a normal, healthy cycle, try to relieve yourself from so much tension and work, find some minutes a day to relax and rest. Fatigue drains your energy away, and if you don’t eat properly, you won’t break the cycle.
Eating properly, both in quality as in quantity will help you ease your fatigue and gain back your once lost energy. You can also try getting a multivitamin complex to supplement for lost minerals and nutrients. Eating at the right time will also help to gain balance. Fruits and vegetables will provide you with lots of vitamins and energy.
To sum up, you need to work on your fatigue first in order to make your headaches go away. Try to relax and work less, eat right and at the right times, sleep properly and find time to do some exercise and some other time to rest.
If the problem persists and your frequent headaches don’t go away seek for professional advice. Your doctor may prescribe you a muscle relaxant, or a sleep medicine, and she can also recommend you an alternative treatment, since acupuncture and massages have proven to be effective to get some relaxation. Remember that breaking the cycle is essential.
