Chronic Pain Relief

When dealing with chronic pain, medication sometimes is not enough. A look a several innovative techniques being used to deliver pain killing power to patients desperate for relief. More information can be found at: www.healthcentral.com

bestpittsburghchiropractor.org The most effective and beneficial way to manage chronic pain is through chiropractic care. Chronic pain in the body is due to a pinched nerve, and it is due to structural misalignment. Even fibromyalgia. Why? Your structure affects your function. So if your have a pinched nerve, the only way to correct this is through a chiropractic adjustment. There’s no other way to correct this, as drugs just mask symptoms only. If you have hard bone out of position pressing on soft nerve (pinched nerve), this means you need a specific chiropractic adjustment. The only thing you have to lose is your pain. Without side-effects. Just because MD’s don’t know how to help you, it doesn’t mean we (chiropractors), don’t know how to help you. “Those that say say that it can’t be done, should not interrupt those that are doing it!” Chronic Pain Common Sources The most common sources of pain stem from headaches-which are coming from your neck, not your head- joint pain, pain from injuries-auto accidents, and work related injuries- and backaches. We also treat tendinitis, sinus pain, carpal tunnel, shoulder and knee pains, and hip and neck pain. The emotional toll of chronic pain can also make the pain worse. Anxiety, stress, depression, anger, and fatigue interact in complex ways with chronic pain and may decrease the body’s production of natural painkillers. It’s been my experience that once we get the patient out of pain, that’s when the “real healing” takes

I’ve been in constant pain for the last 3 years. If it’s not my right ankle (broken in 2007 but never fully healed), it’s excruciating headaches (which we’re convinced that it’s cluster headaches). And if it’s neither of those, it’s my IBS (which leaves me constipated for 16 days at a time). Sadly, the only success in pain relief I’ve had is IV meds, which they won’t offer to me unless I’m screaming, because for me, taking tablets is like taking a glass of water. I’m at my wit’s end. =o[

@wookie37 “This implant has saved my life”. I am glad you said that. Medical evidence shows clearly that many patients, if left untreated for pain will die. Some from suicide, some from heart attacks, strokes, and ulcers, which are stress related. The mind and body can’t handle an overload of pain that doesn’t shut off. It is torture. Unfortunately many victims of pain are left untreated, not even a codiene pill, because insurance companies deny there is anything wrong. I say that is murder.

@quitejaded Hon sometimes pain is intractable and inoperable, as mine was/is, so this was the best / safest way for me for the long run. I am young. No damage to liver or other organs, just electricity you control yourself (or turn ofrf if you want to.) They do a trial run first to make sure it works and they can take it out if they need to for some odd reason. My doc says THIS is what changes lives in pain mgt. these days and I must say I agree. Please keep an open mind. :) Best wishes to you.

  4. quitejaded says:

@wookie37 They don’t know how many drugs work which is precisely why I do not take them. Those are also the drugs that have been known to kill people or cause other problems. :/

I’m glad this surgery worked for you! This is not a risk my family is willing to take yet.

Go see a neurosurgeon and ask! It could TOTALLY change your life. :) I was in horrid pain for 10 years. Now it’s rare that I have discomfort. Please try it. Best wishes and luck.

They” also don’t know how birth control pills work! They assume is suprresses ovulation but not sure. SCSs stops the signal of pain at the spine. During the trail phase, they make sure they have it in the right spot, then you should be knocked out for the implatntation. The senses just can’t compete for the same reaction/stimulus. Keep your options and mind open and keep reading! This implant has saved my life. No question. Good luck! P.S. Procedure is reversible if needed. :)

TENS did nothing for me at all, but the SCS (Spinal cord stim) implant has been amazing. Please try it!!!!!!

  8. wookie37 says:

@quitejaded Well the spinal cord stimulator implantation has kept me from departing this earth; I waited 12 years to get this done b/c it IS surgery (trial and implantation) and botched surgery landed me here. I did it, tho, and think it has saved my life. Do what’s best for you. Research. Ask ?s. There’s probably a patient “ambassador” (there is with St. Jude) you can call for info. about the procedure. It’s scary but the alternative SOOO much worse. Email me anytime; best of luck!!!

My mom has chronic pain. I am NOT going to let her do this. It would hurt me to see her go through surgery for something that “SOMEHOW???!!!” stops the signal of pain??? There is pain because it is a symptom of a problem! If we stop the signal of pain, then if there is a problem, then we will not know that it still need to be fixed! Oh lord. I hope my mom doesn’t find out about this. They don’t even understand how it works…

I’ve had one for going on 9 years and it hasn’t killed any nerves. It is the best form of pain relief I have had so far. 11 years with RSD/CRPS.

  21. Twizzler1996 says:

I have had a spinal cord stimulator since 2000 for RSD/CRPS pain and I can honestly say that I couldn’t live without it.

  22. Twizzler1996 says:

RSD/CRPS chronic pain is NOT caused by stress, it is NOT from being emotional, and it is Not all in your head. It is an actual diagnosis, with actual diagnostic tests, and actual sufferers. Maybe your chronic pain was all in your head, but the people that have been living with chronic pain know better, and so do their doctors.
We get so tired of hearing people say the things you said. Please be respectful of others and their pain.

  23. 123dietdrpepper says:

I have a Tens unit and YES it does help me. I have had 5 spinal surgeries with sciatica pain going down my arms, legs, foot and into the toes. I use it on all of the body parts and it helps. If you have anymore questions feel free to email me.

  24. jst2185 says:

Chronic pain is very often emotional at root (Stress).

I saw 2 years’ chronic pain in my hands from typing vanish after seeing many doctors, using many “ergonomic” keyboards, and doing stretches and exercises galore.

John E. Sarno’s “The Mindbody Prescription” literally removed my hand pain instantly. Check it out on Amazon.

This sounds like a crazy story, or spam, but it’s just my experience. Good luck

Does the Tens work? Or is a scam.
